DAY 5: Skandamata & Narasimha - Nature as Mother, Not Resource

[Spotlight on. Anant appears along with the Monk]

Anant: The seed that expands now controls the entire cosmos.

Monk: Not just controls, but lives inside every atom. For He is Shakti Himself.

Anant: (Smiling at the Monk) So, you unlocked the puzzle. Now, let's see if our audience will unlock something which they actually need to.

Monk: Let's see what Shree and Satya are doing.

[Curtain On]

Satya (disappointedly): Humans are destroying Nature due to their greed. They don't know that it is their mother.

Shree (with anger, her eyes starting to turn red): They created a lot of commotion and now it's time to pay back.

[Shree's eyes become red. The entire environment becomes dark with clouds. Thunder. Seeing this, Shakti appears.]

Shakti: What are you doing, Shree! Stop!

Satya: She is very much disappointed by humans' behaviour.

Shakti: But it doesn't mean that you will destroy them. First give them one chance to reform.

Satya: I too agree with you.

Shree: (calms down, the clouds clear slightly) Okay.

[After this Shree comes to her calm form and then the Child appears]

Shakti: Where is your Companion, the Monk? (Smiling)

Child: He surpasses the divine play and goes beyond it.

Shree and Satya smile back and say, "We already knew it."

[Then Shakti takes the form of an ordinary woman and goes to the city crowd. Seeing Her, Shree, Satya and the Child also take the form of kids and accompany Her.]

The Child (with disdain): They made this beautiful world a hell.

Shree (with anger): Let me destroy them and reset everything.

Satya: Stop! Don't do this.

Shakti: Let's first observe them.

[They move inside, mixed with people, listening.]

Satya (telling Shakti): They think Nature is a resource and so they exploit it.

Shree (disappointedly): What I saw is something different and more disappointing.

The Child: What is it?

Shree: They worship Nature. They follow rituals, they put tilak on trees, they do aarti of rivers... but deep down they aren't transformed yet. They are greedy inside. They use rituals as a mask to look religious but they hardly know what true religion means.

The Child (his voice changing, his nails growing - changing his form into that of a lion): If it's so, let them be punished for it.

Shree: Yes. I agree. Let them be killed as you killed Hiranyakashipu.

Satya (stopping them, holding both): But for my sake give them one more chance. I will reform them, as I dwell inside their mind in the form of conscience.

[Silence. Shakti looks at the Child who is half-lion now. Skandamata and Narasimha are one and the same in this moment - the Mother who nurtures and the Mother who tears.]

Shakti: So be it. Satya will stay as conscience. But listen, humans...

[She turns to the AUDIENCE. This is no longer drama. This is warning.]

Shakti: I am Skandamata - I hold you to make you a warrior. I am also Narasimha - I will tear open the very pillar you call lifeless, if you force me to.

[Curtain falls. Spotlight on Anant and Monk]

Monk (quietly): Will conscience be enough?

Anant (looking straight at audience):

Change and prevent, else there will be positive check.

You worshipped Mother as a resource. Now choose to love Her as Mother. The preventive check is in your hands. Otherwise, the positive check - flood, famine, fire - will be in Hers.

[Blackout]
